Solana Whale Buys $28M SOL as DEX Volume Rebounds

Solana has clawed back its lead in daily DEX volume after a brief slip to Robinhood Chain. The network fell behind for less than 72 hours, then returned above $2 billion per day. It now outpaces Robinhood Chain by a wide margin. The quick recovery matters because it shows where trading activity still flows when incentives fade.

Activity Points to Real Demand

Token Terminal data shows Solana has roughly 10 times more active addresses than Robinhood Chain. That gap suggests the two networks are not operating at the same level of user activity. Robinhood’s airdrop pulled in new users, but Solana’s usage has not faded. The demand for SOL appears to remain intact.

The more interesting shift is in x402 activity. Solana has led that category for two straight weeks, according to AMBCrypto, and now holds over 80% of total activity. This covers AI agents and stablecoin payments. If that trend continues, Solana’s recent rise is not only a DEX story. It also has a payments and automation angle.

Whale Accumulation and Technical Setup

Lookonchain data showed one whale accumulated 285,503 SOL over three weeks. The article ties that to a $28 million purchase. That size is notable, but one wallet does not make a market. Still, the timing lines up with improving chart signals.

On the monthly chart, SOL closed its first green candle in 10 months. The monthly MACD is nearing a bullish crossover, and the RSI has broken above a two-year downtrend. Those are long-term signals, not short-term noise. Analyst Ansem has argued the market is not bullish enough yet. That view may be early, but it is not without support.

What Comes Next

Solana still faces competition. Robinhood Chain may keep drawing traffic, and no chain holds a lead forever. But Solana is regaining ground in DEX volume and agentic transactions at the same time. That combination is harder to dismiss than a single metric.

If on-chain activity keeps rising, the recent whale buying could be the start of a deeper accumulation phase. If activity stalls, it may look like just another large trade. For now, the data leans toward patience and accumulation rather than a quick exit. The next few weeks should show whether that conviction holds.
