Ameritec IPS Combines Biometric Verification With Post-Quantum Data Protection

QAmChain graphic: Preparing for the quantum era, for enterprises, banking and internet

As digital identity checks become more common across financial services, workplaces and online platforms, security systems face two connected challenges: identifying fraudulent users and protecting the sensitive information used to verify genuine ones. AI-generated faces, manipulated video and attempts to spoof cameras have added further complexity to biometric authentication.

Ameritec IPS is addressing these concerns with Q-AmFatec, a biometric identity platform designed to combine facial verification, liveness detection, deepfake screening and post-quantum encryption.

More Than Facial Recognition

Matching a face against an identity document is only one part of biometric verification. Systems must also assess whether the person in front of the camera is genuine and whether the image or video being analysed has been manipulated.

According to Ameritec IPS’s product catalogue, Q-AmFatec is designed to verify a live person, match their face to an ID or account, and identify potential attempts to deceive the authentication process.

Its listed capabilities include 3D face liveness, facial matching, deepfake and camera-injection detection, document forensics, behavioural biometrics and continuous authentication. These functions are intended to support identity checks at different stages, rather than relying solely on an initial facial match.

Detecting Spoofing and Synthetic Media

The platform’s liveness checks are designed to distinguish a real person from attempts involving photographs, screens, masks or replayed video. The company’s documentation describes checks based on depth, texture and natural movement.

Q-AmFatec also includes detection features intended to identify synthetic faces and manipulated camera feeds. Its document-forensics function is designed to check identity documents for signs of tampering and compare the photograph on the document with the live face.

Behavioral biometrics and continuous authentication are additional components described in the catalogue. These can support checks on whether the same person remains in control during a session, an important consideration for services that require continued access after login.

Such capabilities are relevant to banking and fintech, remote workforce access, healthcare and public-sector services. However, the catalogue describes the platform’s intended functions and does not provide independently verified detection rates, so real-world effectiveness would depend on implementation and testing.

Securing the Biometric Information

The protection of biometric data presents a separate challenge. Facial information may be used repeatedly for authentication, making its security important beyond the initial verification process.

Ameritec IPS describes Q-AmFatec as the first biometric quantum-encryption solution. According to the company, the platform seals facial templates using ML-KEM-1024, a post-quantum key-encapsulation mechanism standardized by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

The technology addresses a different part of the security problem from liveness and deepfake detection. Those features are intended to help identify suspicious authentication attempts, while post-quantum cryptography is designed to help protect information against potential future threats to existing cryptographic methods.

Using these approaches together reflects a broader security principle: identity systems need to consider both the authenticity of the person being verified and the confidentiality of the data used during verification.

Flexible Deployment Options

Ameritec IPS’s documentation outlines cloud API, on-premises and offline deployment options for Q-AmFatec. The architecture is designed to support mobile applications, web browsers and kiosk or edge devices, allowing the platform to be integrated into different operating environments.

This flexibility may be useful for organizations with varying infrastructure, connectivity and data-control requirements.

As digital identity systems evolve, the combination of anti-spoofing measures and stronger protection for biometric records is becoming an important area of security development. Q-AmFatec represents Ameritec IPS’s approach to bringing these functions together within one platform.
