More than 39,000 cryptocurrency ATMs are installed across the globe 

This week is a huge success for crypto investors and brings good news for them—as more than 39,000 ATMs for cryptocurrency have been installed across the world. The number of crypto ATM installations has increased by 3925% since January 2017. 

Though the crypto market has struggled with bearish tension in the past few months, the installation of crypto ATM numbers has grown exponentially within 23 months. There were only 10k crypto ATMs when calculated on September 1st, 2020. 

According to the metrics received from our sources, 614 ATM operators dealing with cryptocurrency have installed 39.011 Automated Teller Machines across 77 countries so far. The number could speak volumes about the increase in demand for cryptocurrency in the upcoming years. 

Statistics of geographical distribution suggest that North America is dominating the world with the maximum number of ATMs installed there. More than 37K machines are in North America, accounting for 95.1% of the total number of ATMs distributed worldwide. 

The tally calculated by several research institutes shows that 38,998 ATMs will support the transaction of Bitcoin (BTC). In contrast, 33,056 of the aggregate count will also support alternative crypto assets, including Litecoin (LTC), Ethereum (ETH), Dogecoin (DOGE), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH).

In terms of numbers based on operational machines across the world, Bitcoin Depot is on the leading end by dominating 17.7% of the globe’s 39K ATMs installed. With 5,643 machines, Coincloud, with 5,643 machines, is right behind Bitcoin Depot and is closely followed by 4,124 machines by Coinflip, 2339 machines by Bitcoin of America, 1969 ATMs by Bitstop, and 1781 by Rockitcoin.
