Gemini Teases Major Announcement for XRP

Gemini teases potential XRP listing after legal clarity, while CoinFlip adds XRP to its platform, expanding cryptocurrency accessibility.

Highlighting Points

  • Gemini hints at a significant XRP development with a GIF of a cat, suggesting a potential listing.
  • Gemini expressed interest in listing XRP after the July 13 ruling that XRP sales on exchanges are not a security.
  • Following Coinbase’s lead, major exchanges like Kraken, Crypto.com, Bitstamp, and Binance.US reintroduced XRP after the SEC complaint.
  • CoinFlip adds XRP to its platform, allowing users to buy and sell the cryptocurrency using cash through its extensive network of cryptocurrency ATMs.

The cryptocurrency exchange Gemini, founded by the Winklevoss brothers in 2015, has hinted at a significant development regarding XRP. In a recent tweet, Gemini posted a GIF image of a cat at a desk along with the caption, “Me, the intern, patiently waiting for Gemini to list XRP.”

Shortly after the significant ruling on July 13 regarding Ripple, Gemini expressed their interest in listing XRP. They tweeted, “Given today’s ruling that the sale of XRP on exchanges is not a security, Gemini is exploring the listing of XRP for both spot and derivatives trading.”

On July 13, Judge Torres decreed that selling XRP on exchanges did not constitute an investment contract. This was viewed as an immense victory by the cryptocurrency industry.

Following Coinbase’s lead, Kraken, Crypto.com, Bitstamp, and Binance.US reintroduced XRP on their platforms. Gemini, along with these exchanges, had delisted XRP shortly after the SEC filed a complaint in late 2020.

With the reintegration of XRP on major exchanges, members of the XRP community eagerly await Gemini’s decision to relist the cryptocurrency.

CoinFlip Adds XRP to its Platform

Fintech company CoinFlip recently announced the listing of XRP on its platform in late July, joining the growing list of platforms offering XRP. In a press release, CoinFlip revealed that XRP is now available for purchase through its Order Desk, an over-the-counter service.

CoinFlip operates the largest network of cryptocurrency ATMs in terms of transaction volume globally. With over 4,500 kiosks across 49 U.S. states, Puerto Rico, Canada, and Australia, CoinFlip enables users to buy and sell major cryptocurrencies using cash. Consequently, the inclusion of XRP holds significant value.
