Bryan Johnson, the 45-year-old tech millionaire and biohacker, is once again in the spotlight. Known for his eccentric experiments, such as injecting his teenage son’s blood into his own veins, and spending over $4 million on anti-aging treatments, Johnson has now opened a new betting market on Polymarket. The subject matter? The duration of his nighttime erections.
According to the market’s official description, the bet will be resolved in favor of a ‘yes’ if Johnson can maintain a nighttime erection for 2 hours and 12 minutes or more. This will be based on the highest of three readings taken during the final week of December 2024. As of now, over $22,000 stands to be won or lost, with the winner to be announced by January 15, 2025, at 12:00 PM ET.
Johnson, who is fully invested in the stunt, announced the news on X (previously known as Twitter). He emphasized that a nighttime erection is not something one can control or prepare for. It either happens or it doesn’t.
The market is set to resolve based on measurements taken during the last week of December 2024. If Johnson fails to release the data by January 15, 2025, the market will split 50-50.
This is not the first time Johnson has stirred the betting market with his sexual health. Earlier this year, bettors backed his ability to achieve a sperm count target above 20 million per ejaculation, resulting in a 50-50 split following a disputed bet.
This time around, the stakes are higher. Johnson has warned potential bettors that his travel schedule might affect the desired outcome. He plans to return from China on December 16, noting that international travel can disrupt his body’s rhythms, which could have an impact on his nighttime erections, or as he likes to abbreviate, NTE.
Johnson points out that NTE is a significant marker of biological age, representing sexual, cardiovascular, and psychological health. He cites research that shows a lack of robust nighttime erections correlates with a higher risk of premature death.
These experiments are part of Johnson’s larger “Project Blueprint,” an open-source anti-aging protocol that includes over 100 daily supplements, strict sleep monitoring, and continuous blood testing. This program, costing $2 million annually, has reportedly reduced his biological age to that of a 30-year-old across various metrics.
Johnson’s avant-garde approach to anti-aging has caught the attention of Netflix, which plans to release a documentary titled “Don’t Die” next year, charting his quest for immortality. Despite his unconventional methods, Johnson’s fundamental health advice remains surprisingly simple.
For those willing to participate in the bet, it’s important to note that Johnson’s most recent round of penis treatments began in mid-August with three sessions of shockwave therapy. He states that improvements can take up to 12 weeks post-therapy, a crucial factor for bettors to consider.
As it stands, bettors seem to have faith in Johnson. A considerable 67% of wagers believe that Johnson’s Johnson will rise to the occasion.
