Teams to Watch For, Teams on Upset Alert, and Teams that could be Sleepers

Every single year, March Madness has teams that people need to watch out for, to potential upsets, teams that could be potential sleepers in the month of March. There are teams that are going to make people eagerly want to fill out in their respective brackets and there will be some teams you will be hesitant to pick.

The March Madness odds are already out. Some will have higher odds and some will have lower odds. What should we watch for throughout March Madness?

Teams to Watch For

Gonzaga Bulldogs

This team is going to be the number one overall seed in the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive season. They are loaded with freshman and veteran players. Gonzaga was undefeated last year before losing in the National Championship Game against the Baylor Bears.

The Gonzaga Bulldogs don’t have the pressure to go undefeated since they lost three games this year, but they still have the pressure to cut down the nets in New Orleans. Louisiana come April.

Kansas Jayhawks

The Kansas Jayhawks are starting to become maybe the second-best potential number one seed in the country right behind the Gonzaga Bulldogs. Kansas has an elite backcourt that can shoot the three and score the basketball effectively. They also have elite size that can dominate the paint.

The Jayhawks have not been to the Final Four since 2018, where they were dominated by the Villanova Wildcats, who were the National Champions that year. Kansas has not won it all since 2008 against the Memphis Tigers. The Kansas Jayhawks postseason disappointment has to end sooner rather than later.

Teams that Could be Upset Early

Texas Longhorns

The Texas Longhorns have been a very streaky basketball team this season. Yes, the Big 12 is one of the better conferences in college basketball this season. However, something doesn’t feel right about Texas, and they could possibly be bounced before winning a game in the NCAA Tournament.

They are one of those basketball teams that will be vulnerable in the NCAA Tournament. The Longhorns have a habit of blowing leads and they blew a 40-22 lead against the TCU Horned Frogs in the Big 12 Tournament and lost the game.

Alabama Crimson Tide

The Alabama Crimson Tide has the talent to go to the Elite 8 or they can get upset in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Alabama has played in a very tough SEC Conference, but they could get the wrong 11th seed or 12th seed in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Crimson Tide had very high expectations heading into this season. They were a Top 10 basketball team at one point and looked unbeatable, but that hasn’t been the case since.

Sleeper Teams

Colorado State Rams

The Colorado State Rams are projected to be the seventh seed in the NCAA Tournament right now. Colorado State has a very solid backcourt and they can score the basketball. The Mountain West was a very strong conference this year.

Colorado State has a chance to make a run at the Sweet 16 and maybe the Elite 8. Number two seeds better pray they don’t see the Rams in their respective bracket. There has been at least one-seventh seed every year that seemingly advances to the Sweet 16.

Murray State Racers

This is another mid-major basketball team that no one wants to play in March. Murray State finished 30-2 overall and 18-0 in the conference. They play in the Ohio Valley Conference. Murray State will either be an eighth seed or a ninth seed, but they have the talent of a fourth seed or a fifth seed.

Murray State has a solid backcourt and frontcourt. They can be like the Loyola Chicago team that reached the Final Four a few years
