Hoskinson Urges Cardano Community to Back Political Party Plan

Charles Hoskinson is asking the Cardano community to back a new governance structure. He believes it could help the network move forward again. He has been open about recent struggles and wants to turn that around.

Hoskinson said Cardano represents most of his meaningful adult life. Walking away is not part of the plan, even after months of tension inside the network. He plans to keep working through the difficulties and help move Cardano into its next phase.

A Political Party for Cardano

The main proposal is to create a political party inside the Cardano network. Hoskinson argues that cynicism and pessimism have made it hard for the project to stay focused. He wants a more coordinated organization with stronger leadership and clearer decisions.

If the community gives him enough support and authority, he says he will remove the negativity that has slowed progress. He also plans to confront groups he sees as creating unnecessary division. The goal is more effective governance.

Shifting Focus Back to Adoption

Governance reform is only part of the picture. Hoskinson also wants Cardano to focus on growth and real-world adoption. He thinks better leadership would improve marketing, bring in more users, and give the network a clearer strategy.

Internal disputes have been distracting. Settling them, he argues, would let the community focus on developers, businesses, and new users. A more organized governance structure could also help Cardano compete in the broader blockchain industry.

Still Committed Despite the Difficulties

Hoskinson acknowledges that many community members are frustrated. Still, he says he has no desire to leave the project. He believes most people in the community share that commitment. He also feels he has the energy to try again.

For him, these governance issues are another obstacle to overcome, not a reason to quit.

ADA Holders Get the Final Say

Hoskinson also recognizes the limits of his own role. Cardano’s governance model puts the final decision in the hands of ADA holders and other stakeholders. He is willing to take on stronger leadership if asked, but the community might choose someone else.

Whoever leads, he says, Cardano needs to unite behind a clear long-term strategy. His latest comments come as the proposed political party moves closer to launch. He said earlier this month that the initiative is nearing completion, though no date has been announced.

The proposal follows months of governance disputes, including the rejection of treasury proposals tied to Hoskinson. Those disagreements led to the cancellation of Cardano Summit 2026. He first considered becoming a Delegate Representative (DRep), but that idea grew into a broader political organization.

If it goes ahead, the party would operate as a major DRep within Cardano’s on-chain governance system. It would help coordinate development, treasury allocation, and long-term strategy. ADA holders would also gain a structured way to participate through membership and voting.
