CZ Claims Google Warned Him of Hackers

CZ dropped a screenshot on Twitter yesterday showing a Google alert that said government-backed hackers might be trying to get into his account. His response? Pretty chill actually. He asked if anyone knew what it was about and threw out North Korea’s Lazarus Group as a possible culprit.

The former Binance boss said he gets these warnings every now and then but doesn’t really sweat them since he doesn’t store anything critical on that particular account. Easy for him to say when you’re worth $60 billion and basically crypto royalty.

Lazarus has been absolutely wrecking crypto companies for years now. They pulled off the Bybit hack and hit WazirX and Lykke hard, and security folks think the money they steal makes up around 13% of North Korea’s entire economy. That’s how desperate they are to fund their weapons programs while under heavy sanctions.

Google’s security team basically said these alerts are just them being extra careful. They’re not saying your account definitely got hacked – more like, “Hey, we noticed something weird; maybe be careful.” It’s their version of better safe than sorry.

Even though CZ stepped down from running Binance, he’s still massively influential in crypto. That makes him prime bait for hackers wanting insider info or trying to pull off social engineering scams.

Conclusion

CZ’s chill response might show confidence, but it also exposes how constant the risk of hacking has become in the high-stakes world of crypto.
