El Salvador’s Ministry of Education Collaborates with Nonprofit for Crypto Education Initiative
El Salvador’s Ministry of Education and nonprofit organization “Mi Primer Bitcoin” (MPB) have announced a groundbreaking initiative to introduce cryptocurrency education into the public school curriculum by 2024. This collaboration aims to prepare students for the growing importance of digital currency in the global economy.
Bitcoin Beach Supports the Education Initiative
Bitcoin Beach, a project focused on creating a sustainable crypto ecosystem in El Salvador, has provided crucial support for this initiative. The collaboration between the Ministry of Education and MPB will draw extensively from MPB’s existing program, which awards students with a crypto diploma upon completion.
Training Program to Commence
John Dennehy, the founder of MPB, expressed his enthusiasm for the project and announced that training for the pilot program will begin on September 7. Initially, 150 public school teachers from 75 schools will receive fundamental knowledge about cryptocurrency, serving as the foundation for their future lessons.
El Salvador Sets an Example for the World
Dennehy highlighted the global significance of El Salvador’s pioneering move, stating, “As the first nation to adopt crypto, El Salvador will be an example for the world. Quality education is our best chance to ensure that example is a positive one.”
Expansion Plans
After completing the training program, the teachers will return to their respective schools and deliver lessons based on the curriculum developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Education. If successful, the pilot program will be expanded to include all schools in the country in the following year.
