XRP Ledger Targets Tokenization as Wallet Integration Nears 1.5M Users

The XRP Ledger is quietly moving away from its early reputation as just a payments network. It’s now positioning itself as a blockchain built for institutional tokenization of real-world assets.

Trensik, a platform focused on verified RWAs on XRPL, argues that tokenization needs operational rails, not promises for future upgrades. And the XRPL already has the five core building blocks: native on-chain asset issuance, a built-in decentralized exchange (DEX), compliance features, three-to-five-second settlement, and Ripple’s regulated stablecoin, RLUSD.

Tokenization Tools Already in Place

Institutions can issue, trade, and settle tokenized assets like U.S. Treasuries, real estate, private credit, and corporate bonds entirely on-chain. Settlement happens in seconds using XRP or RLUSD, cutting down delays, lowering counterparty risk, and enabling 24/7 markets.

Adoption is picking up speed. Tokenized U.S. Treasuries on XRPL jumped from roughly $50 million to over $418 million in the past year—an eightfold increase that suggests institutions are gaining confidence in the network for real-world financial products.

Wallet Integration Expands Reach

XRPL is also widening its user base through ecosystem integrations. In a partnership with XRPL Commons, LOBSTR Wallet—one of Stellar’s most popular wallets with more than 1.5 million users—has added XRPL support.

The first phase, available on iOS and Android, lets users hold and transfer XRP and XRPL-issued tokens, manage multiple XRPL wallets, access full transaction histories, perform Stellar-to-XRPL cross-chain swaps, and buy or sell RLUSD through integrated fiat on- and off-ramps. This integration strengthens interoperability between the two ecosystems and significantly broadens XRPL’s accessibility.

AI Agents as Growth Catalyst

RippleX also sees artificial intelligence as a major growth driver. The company’s Head of Engineering recently projected that autonomous AI agent transactions on XRPL could increase from around 1 million today to between 10 million and 100 million over the coming years. As AI agents execute payments, purchase digital services, and interact with tokenized assets without human help, they need a blockchain with fast, low-cost, and reliable settlement. XRPL’s near-instant finality, native tokenization, integrated liquidity, and regulated stablecoin support seem well suited for that demand.

These developments reinforce XRPL’s role as institutional financial infrastructure. With production-ready tokenization tools, rising RWA adoption, expanding wallet distribution, and growing AI-driven use cases, the XRP Ledger is positioning itself as a foundation for the next wave of digital finance and the coming tokenization boom.
