Mantle Moves Super Portal to Chainlink CCIP

Mantle, the blockchain platform that connects traditional finance with on-chain liquidity, has decided to move its Super Portal from LayerZero to Chainlink CCIP. This is part of an effort to improve security for cross-chain transfers involving the $MNT token, which is central to Mantle’s ecosystem.

Chainlink, known for its decentralized oracle network, provides a range of blockchain interoperability and security solutions. By switching to Chainlink CCIP, Mantle hopes to make cross-chain token transfers more reliable and safe.

The Mantle Super Portal was built together with Bybit, a major cryptocurrency exchange that offers global trading services. It allows users to move $MNT between Ethereum and Solana. After the migration, the portal will operate using the Cross-Chain Token (CCT) standard, and every transfer will be secured by Chainlink CCIP. Mantle also gains full control over its smart contracts and cross-chain token management.

Migration Timeline and Temporary Downtime

The migration is scheduled to happen between July 9 and July 15, 2026. During this window, the Super Portal will be temporarily unavailable. Once the switch is complete, transfers will resume automatically, and users should not need to take any additional steps.

Mantle says the upgrade is not just about the immediate security boost. It also prepares the network for future expansion to other blockchains. This move supports Mantle’s long-term goal of building infrastructure for tokenized real-world assets and institutional finance. The team believes this is a step toward broader adoption of blockchain in traditional financial systems.

Looking Ahead

The decision to move from LayerZero to Chainlink CCIP seems calculated. LayerZero has been a popular choice for cross-chain communication, but Mantle felt Chainlink’s CCIP offered better security features and more control. It remains to be seen how this change will affect the user experience, but the temporary downtime is a small price to pay for improved safety, according to the team.

Overall, this migration reflects Mantle’s focus on building a robust foundation for institutional-grade finance on-chain. The platform is aiming to attract more traditional financial players by offering reliable and secure cross-chain infrastructure.
