JustLend DAO Burns 170.7M JST in Fifth Buyback Round

JustLend DAO has completed the fifth round of its JST buyback and burn. On October 16, the Tron-based lending protocol removed 170,723,144 JST from circulation. The tokens were worth about $23.53 million at the time. The DAO confirmed the transfer to a designated burn address in an October 17 announcement and said the round closes the first phase of a program the community approved in October 2025.

How the fifth burn was funded

The round used two funding sources. One was $9,280,216 in third-quarter net income. The other was $10,340,249 from a historical revenue allocation. The burned amount equaled 1.72% of total supply. JustLend DAO also published the transaction hash, so holders can check the transfer on the Tron blockchain explorer. That detail matters. A burn is only as clear as the record behind it, and an on-chain transfer is easier to verify than an internal ledger entry.

Cumulative reduction reaches 19%

Across all five quarterly rounds, the DAO has burned 1,881,973,007 JST. That is 19.01% of supply as of October 16. The governing proposal directs all of JustLend DAO’s net income, plus any USDD multichain revenue above $10 million, toward buying back and burning JST. The vote that started the program took place on October 21, 2025. Five rounds have now been completed on a quarterly schedule over roughly one year. The structure ties each burn to income the protocol actually generated, rather than to a one-time token allocation. I think that makes the supply reduction easier to read, though it also means the pace depends on business results.

What changes next

With round five done, the initiative is moving into a new phase. The DAO said updated mechanics and future arrangements will be announced shortly. It plans to keep publishing financial disclosures on a regular basis. It has not yet given the size or frequency of the next round, so the exact path from here is still open. Burned JST is removed permanently and cannot re-enter circulation. Future burns will depend on how much revenue JustLend DAO generates each quarter. The schedule sits inside broader activity across Tron DeFi, where JustLend operates as one of the network’s main lending venues.
