MSI has revolutionized benchmarks in the gaming industry with its latest edition of the Infinity X Gaming Desktop series. The power of Intel 9th generation processors makes the new MSI gaming desktop a definitive choice for all gamers.
The i9-9900K processor accompanied with the signature RTX graphics cards of MSI promises an additional edge to users over competitors. But how will the system stay cool with such a massive amount of power? MSI has leveraged its Silent Storm Cooling 3 Thermal design to improve the desktop’s cooling efficiency. If you have a knack for gaming and multitasking, then the Infinity X 9th would not disappoint you!
Let’s take a look at the specs
Keep in mind that this revolutionary gaming desktop would be available in two models: Infinity X 9th and Infinity X 9th Plus. Both the models seem to be identical at first. But if you go through the configurations of both models, you would find that they differ regarding hardware specifications. The Infinity X 9th is powered by Intel’s Z370 chipset motherboard while Infinity X 9th Plus has a Z390 chipset.
Apart from the different core components, the Infinity X 9th is capable of supporting 64GB of DDR4-2666 memory. The powerful Infinity X 9th could also accommodate one 2.4-inch drive, two M.2 solid state drives, and two 3.5-inch drives. The power supply for MSI’s Infinity X 9th edition gaming desktop could either be a 550W 80 Plus Bronze model or 850W 80 Plus Platinum PSU model.
The front panel has two ports which are USB 2.0 port and a Type-A and Type-C USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports. In addition to these, the system also has four USB 2.0 ports at the back. The back also includes one GbE LAN port, one USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A and USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port each. The system also houses different audio jacks, DVI-D video outputs, an HDMI 1.4 and DisplayPort 1.2 along with a PS/2 combo port.
Higher performance levels
Its ingenious structure planning also supports the cooling of the MSI Infinity X 9th edition gaming desktop. The different components of the system are housed in three distinct chambers. The conventional design of the top and bottom chambers for CPU and power supply is observed clearly. The graphics card is mounted vertically and is considered as a third chamber. The specifications of the Infinity X 9th have not been studied in detail. Therefore, the effectiveness of the system’s cooling apparatus could not be determined conclusively.
However, gaming enthusiasts can be sure about the higher performance levels of the Infinity X 9th as compared to its predecessor. This truly exemplifies the vision of MSI to ‘Stand above the rest’ with the facility for integrating new upgrades in the system.
With the RTX 2080 Ti series graphics card, the Infinity X 9th would leave no stone unturned to provide the best in-game performance. MSI has not revealed the official date for launching the Infinity X 9th or its pricing details. These factors are only building up the excitement for this new gaming rig that would be a sure favorite for all gamers!
