The acquisition cost according to the press release of Facebook states that it is a staggering $78 million US Dollars (70 million euros). The main reason behind the acquisition of PlayGiga is to spread facebook’s new venture into gaming onto more serious grounds. The purchase was confirmed by facebook to CNBC initially along with the pricing as well.

The cloud service provider had a powerful 300 games library that caught the eye of Facebook. However, Facebook hasn’t released any statements regarding creating their own gaming cloud with the Acquisition.
