According to Coinmarketcap.com statistics at 8.50 a.m., the cryptocurrency market cap increased by roughly 2.02% to $859.24 billion, while trading volume increased by 0.95 percent to $37.43 billion. Stacks (STX) was the highest gainer today, up 8.44 percent to $0.2711. Synthetix (SNX) was the biggest loser, selling at $1.89 after losing 3.71 percent in the previous 24 hours to Friday morning.
Prices of Cryptocurrencies
Bitcoin: BTC gained 2.2% to $17,223.33. For most of the day and afternoon of December 8, BTC traded in the red. However, at about 5.10 p.m., BTC acquired momentum upward, significantly raising its price. Within a few hours, BTC soared from roughly $16,800 to $17,200. The lowest BTC price was $16,788.78. BTC’s trading volume increased by 5.67% to $20,703,015,535.
Ethereum: The price of Ethereum increased 3.83 percent in the previous 24 hours to $1,281.74 on Friday morning. On December 8, ETH’s transaction was particularly volatile, with its price moving fast. However, at the same time as BTC was gaining traction, ETH was also gaining traction. Consequently, ETH increased from $1,234 to $1,285 in hours.
DeFi Prices
Yearn.Finance (YFI) fell 0.19 percent to $7,026.64. Its 24-hour trading volume dropped 37.33% to $17,329,714. Avalanche (AVAX) was up 1.2% at $13.44, while its 24-hour trading volume was down 15.93% at $116,305,711. Aave (AAVE) was trading at $63.04, up 2.17 percent, with a 24-hour trading volume of $45.34 million.
